An Ode To East Texas

Amidst the pines of East Texas, where city echoes fade,
A refuge in the country, where the soul finds its serenade.
Escape the urban hustle, embrace the pine-scented air,
Nature's symphony beckons, a melody beyond compare.

Beneath the sprawling canopy, where tall trees proudly stand,
Planted by an Uncle, with a calloused and gentle hand.
Escape the concrete confines, let tranquility unfold,
In East Texas' embrace, where stories of the past are told.

Oh, the winding trails that lead to hidden streams,
A sanctuary of stillness, where reality and dreams,
Conspire in whispered secrets, shared with rustling leaves,
In East Texas, I find solace that the city often thieves.

Crickets hum their lullabies, as the stars ignite the sky,
A celestial display, in the quietude, we find why,
The city's constant chaos fades, replaced by nature's grace,
In East Texas' repose, find a timeless, tranquil space.

Amidst the towering pines, a reminder that life is a present,
In each rustling leaf, in every soft scent.
Escape the urban echoes, relish the gift of now,
In East Texas' embrace, let gratitude avow.

All of these photos were taken in Autumn, East Texas 2023.

I was fortunate to go back 'home' for Thanksgiving to the country in East Texas.

Wonderful memories made, delicious food eaten, peaceful conversation had, beautiful scenes viewed... and many, many, many bullets shot out of guns! Now THATS something to be thankful for.
